Associate/Analyst: Medical Devices
Applicants must have an advanced degree in the life sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physiology, molecular biology, immunology) and three-plus years of relevant experience at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or investment company. The candidate will preferably also have a business degree (MBA) and/or significant practical experience in business, finance or economics. Experience in business development, intellectual property, project management or an apprenticeship in venture capital are assets.
The associate will conduct business and scientific due diligence, and manage technology development projects at RCT's corporate office in Tucson. The position requires entrepreneurial spirit, strong skills in technical analysis, project management, business analysis, and excellent written and interpersonal communication along with knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical development.
Associate/Analyst: RCT Gene eXpression Technologies Program
Reporting to the GXT program director, the associate/analyst will help manage and support existing licenses, and secure new users and licensees for the various GXT technologies. The GXT portfolio includes proprietary gene expression technologies such as the Pichia pastoris protein expression system, the InsectSelect™ Insect Cell Expression System, the bovine growth hormone polyadenylation (bgh-polyA) signal sequence and other genes/vectors involved with recombinant protein production.
The associate/analyst will also help identify and evaluate novel gene-expression and protein-production technologies, and improvements to existing program/technologies for potential acquisition and development by RCT.
This position in Tucson requires an advanced degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a similar field, and at least two years experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or protein manufacturing industry. Preference will be given to candidates with technology evaluation experience and familiarity with business development, licensing and contracts. Significant travel from Tucson is also required.
Director/Associate: Business Development
The business development director/associate will represent RCT and the RCT BioVentures early-stage investment program to U.S. start-up companies and research institutions with the goal of identifying promising new investment opportunities for RCT's programs.
The director/associate will develop and maintain relationships with start-up companies and institutions to identify potentially valuable biomedical technologies for possible investment and development by RCT. This position requires regular travel from RCT's corporate office in Tucson.
Applicants must have an advanced degree in the life sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physiology, molecular biology, immunology), and relevant business development experience at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or investment company.
